HP Pavilion Plus 16 Review: Productivity Meets Gaming

The HP Pavilion Plus 16 weighs in at a feather-light 1.89 kg, with an impressive 16-inch display (more on that later), and dimensions 55.2 x 34.5 x 6.9 cm in terms of its construction.

Now let’s talk about the materials. The Plus 16 has a complete aluminum chassis that, with its rounded corners and low flex, gives the impression of being solid and high-quality. Also, the screen won’t jiggle because to the sturdy hinge that lets you open it with one hand. Those concerned about their impact on the environment will also appreciate the company’s dedication to employing recycled materials.

Physical input devices

15-Inch HP Pavilion Plus Keyboard: Upon opening the laptop, one can see a standard numeric keypad and a full-size keyboard. Although a more centrally placed keyboard would be preferred by some, this arrangement is designed for professionals who often use the number pad. The keys may be a little mushy, but they have enough of travel, so typing on this keyboard is pleasurable.

But the trackpad is a whole other beast. This is because early testing revealed that the surface was too sticky, making for a frustrating scrolling experience. But after a few days of heavy usage, the trackpad’s scrolling speed did noticeably improve. Still, clicking is a recurring problem. The trackpad’s huge size contributes to the uneven clicking experience across various parts of the screen. One example is the trackpad’s top part, which needs a lot of pressure to register a click. This might cause fatigue and restrict its use to certain locations.

Evaluation of the HP Pavilion Plus 16: Screen Size

We thought the screen of the HP Pavilion Plus 16 to be the most impressive part of the laptop. With its breathtaking 16-inch 16:10 WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS screen, which offers a refresh rate of 48 to 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 400 nits, the Plus 16 provides an emotionally engaging viewing experience. When it comes to the quality, HP seems to have found the sweet spot with the resolution, making sure text looks clear without draining the battery too much. The laptop is more suited for content consumption since colors are reproduced vibrantly.

And since it covers the whole sRGB color spectrum, this monitor is perfect for all your video and picture editing needs. But its multitasking capabilities were the real deal-breakers for us. Users may feel free to stretch out their workflow on the roomy 16-inch screen, which facilitates smooth multitasking.
